Melkbosch Strand is a coastal village and
beach on the West Coast of South Africa, 35
km north of Cape Town. The town and its 7
km stretch of white sand beach is situated on
the Atlantic coast with the Blouberg mountain
to the east. The beach is very popular with
surfers.

Melkbosch Strand which already had its
foreshore in 1806, albeit only the Damhuis
which structure still exists today but without
the dam. This is the dam the British troops
swarmed to for water, when they set foot on
this shore on 6 / 8 January, 1806. The Battle

and the Dutch Farmers took place slightly to
